Option one

Program: Gojjam Road

Transportation Land /Surface

Day 01

The drive takes you from the Hotel to the Northwestern part of Addis Abeba passing through Mount Entoto, Emperor Meneliks Palace, the Entoto St. Mary Emperor Meneliks and Empress Taitu Memorial Museum, Chancho, Mugher Gorge and Jemma valley, and Debre Libanos Monastery one of Ethiopia’s most prominent monasteries, this is the beginning of the true gorge country for which the central highlands are known for. Breath- taking views over chasms with a depth of 600m or more, the old monastery itself is situated behind the new church to the right up on the cliff and Debre Libanos owes its foundation to St. Tekle Haimanot, a venerated clergyman who founded the monastery in 1275.

From Debre Libanos less than 1Km ups the main road, turning right on a rocky track you will find the first bridge in Ethiopia known as the Portuguese Bridge.

Day 02

Drive descending down to the Blue Nile Gorge and Bridge to make more visit and the Canon which resembles with the Grand Canon of America. Return back to Addis Enjoying the Oromo people unique villages.

Option Two

Program: Ambo Road

Day 01

The drive takes you from the Hotel to the western part of Addis Abeba visiting through Menagesha Forest, Addis Alem (Debre Tsion Kidus Mariam church), Mount Wonchi – is a 3,386 meter dormant volcano with beautiful caldera which encircles a 4 Km2 Crater Lake on which small islands can be seen, one of which is the home of Wonchi Cherkos monastery .This place is described as Green Paradise. Other visit will be at Addis Alem (Debre Tsion Kidus Mariam church) – half way between Addis and Ambo ,once a palace now Debre Tsion Church was built by Menelik 2nd to be the next capital of Ethiopia moving his royal residence from mount Entoto ,though the king abandoned the idea and returned to live in his previous home.

Day 02

Early morning enjoy Ambo (Hagere Hiwot) a therapeutic hot spring that lie in the town center and accompanying swimming pool surrounded by lawns and shady trees makes it a paradise to stay some time. Return back to Addis through other route.

Program: Dessie Road

Day 01

The drive takes you from the Hotel to the North eastern part of Addis Abeba visiting through Sendafa and Debre Birhan Mountain; a deep gorge of the Kesem River is visible to the right and Debre Birhan Selassie church is also a site to be visited. The drive proceed to Ankober - 42Km east of Debre Birhan has played an important role in the country’s history as being a strategic site in the struggle between highlands and lowland emperors as early as the 13th century. A notable showan King of the time was King Sahle Selassie (1813 – 1847), Emperor Menelik’s grandfather who built the church of Mikael which is a major attraction in ANKOBER

Day 02

Enjoy the early morning view of the Great Rift Valley from the top of the western escarpments. Return back to Addis passing through the Oromo people unique house style and farming field.

Option Four

Program: Jimma Road

Transportation Land /Surface  

Day 01

The drive takes you from the Hotel to the North eastern part of Addis Abeba on the way visiting Adadi Mariam and Melka Konture – 68Km south of Addis Abeba, Ethiopia’s southernmost functional rock-hewn church dating back to 15th or even as early as the 3th century by some accounts, a lovely subterranean Semi-monolithic attributed by legend to King Lalibela. Adadi Mariam is easily visited en route to Tiya, along with the Melka Kunture prehistoric archeological site at the bank of Awash River, where a museum documents the many important fossils and Stone Age artifacts uncovered there.

Overnight at Wolisso Negash lodge, a recently private and renovated former government hotel, situated on 1Km gravel road south of the main street, the outdoor being a hot – spring fed pool

Day 02

Morning drive takes you to Tiya Stelae fields –the closest UNESCO World heritage site to Addis Abeba, located 88 Km south of Addis, comprises 36 megaliths erected to mark mass graves of young males and females, possibly soldiers, who were laid to rest in a foetal. Return back to Addis

Option Five

Program: Adama/Nazareth Road

Day 01

The drive takes you from the Hotel to the eastern part of Addis Abeba on the way, visit Lake Bishoftu (Debre Zeit), and Adama (Nazareth) –Sodere Hot spring resort. Bishoftu (Debre Zeit) – Mount of Olives, surrounded by several volcanic crater Lakes in and around the city, some of which are deep crater. Among others Lake Hora, Bishoftu, and Kuriftu are the major ones. The drive will proceed to Nazareth and then to Sodere. Enjoy the Hot spring water and the Awash River passing by the resort with so many birds and Monkeys.

Day 02

Early morning enjoy the pools of Sodere which are naturally heated and the location of the resort alongside the Awash River makes it ideal for spotting crocodiles, Hippos ,monkeys and several bird species. The road leads to the Arsi Mountains and further south to Bale Mountains National park. Proceed to Awash National Park – 100 Km from the Nazareth it is worth to be visited by short excursion traveler and it accommodates variety of wildlife like Beisa Oryx, Warthog, Kudus and Gazelles with extraordinary variety of Bird life. Also we will have the chance to enjoy the Awash River fall at the middle of the park. Return back to Addis through the new express way

Option six

Rift Valley Lakes/Langano – Hawassa

Day 01

Drive through the chain of Rift Valley Lakes, which starts from Lake Koka an artificial Lake from the Awash River with spectacular scenery as the other rift valley lakes and a bird watching area which can be explored from Meki. Lake Ziway – here many birds can be seen. A boat can take us to visit one or more of the islands with their monasteries. Debre Tsion is the most famous. It is said that in the 9th century AD, the Ark of the Covenant was brought here from Axum because it was in danger of being destroyed by the ferocious Queen Yodit “Gudit”.Indeed, the oldest written document about Axum has been discovered here on Tulu Gudo Island. Lake Langano – it is one of the few Rift valley Lakes without the danger of bilharzia. The old growth forest on the east side of the lake is a great place for nature lovers and birdwatchers.  Day 02

Early morning visit Lake Abiata and Shalla – the two lakes, which are located only three Km apart but, nevertheless, differs greatly in character. It is very reach with Aquatic birds. Like Pelicans and Flamingos. You can visit the museum, the Ostrich farm, and the hot springs on the shores of Lake Shalla. Proceed to Hawassa and enjoy the big fish market around the lake and the small park which is very famous for birding. Return back to Addis.
